Middletown Sports Hall of Fame Announces 13 New Inductees

These are the 13 individuals and two teams will be inducted at the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Jan. 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell.

Middletown Sports Hall of Fame President Thomas J. Serra today announced the Class of 2014. These are the 13 individuals and two teams will be inducted at the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Jan. 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell.  

The inductees are Charles Gill (Middletown High and Trinity College football and track); Dario Highsmith (Middletown High School football, basketball, baseball, American Legion baseball); Theodore Isaacson (Middletown High School football, baseball); Frederica Jones (Woodrow Wilson High School, University of Connecticut cross-country, track); Karina Lago (posthumously inducted, Middletown High School, Brown University,  cross-country, track). 

Also, Eric Larson (Middletown High School, University of New Haven, track, swimming, cross-country); Paul Laudano (Middletown High School, Boston University, football, wrestling); Edward Mann (Xavier High School, football, baseball, American Legion baseball); Joseph McCabe (Xavier, Trinity College, football, baseball, American Legion baseball); Robert Peterson (Umpire, local, state, regional levels); Carmine Schiro (Xavier, Ricker College, baseball, American Legion baseball); Kyle Skene (Middletown High School, Middlesex CC, Central Connecticut State University, football, basketball, baseball); Neal Skene (Middletown High School, University of Connecticut, football, basketball, baseball). 

The two teams are the 1948 Middletown Little League team that participated in the World Series in Williamsport, Penn, and the Woodrow Wilson High 1982 state championship girls track team.
