Two Middletown Democrats Not Seeking Reelection

Councilman Ronald Klattenberg and Board of Education member Theodore Raczka are moving on.

Two high-ranking Democrats in Middletown are not going to run for reelection this year.

The Hartford Courant reported that Councilman Ronald Klattenberg will not run again, ending his 16-year term on the Middletown Common Council. Theodore Raczka, an eight-year member of the Board of Education and chairman for four of those years, is also not seeking office.

Klattenberg told the Courant he will still head up the Eckersley Hall Building Committee, while Raczka said he will soon become the president of the Middlesex County Bar Association, which will be a time commitment.
