Reader: Meeting Officer and K-9 Judge Enlightening Experience

Middletown High Schooler Billy Prevatte enjoyed his time with Officer William Maio and his police dog, who completed a rigorous, 16-week training course with the Connecticut State Police K-9 Training Academy.

To the Editor:

On Feb. 6, at 11 a.m., I went down to the Middletown Police Department to interview Officer William Maio, one of the city's newest K-9 officers with his partner canine, Judge. The dog is certified in evidence detection and apprending suspects and has done some tracking for suspects.

It was a very special honor to get pictures taken of me Judge, and the K-9 officer. Outside the Middletown Police Department’s parking lot, I was recognized as an official MPD supporter.
