Farmers Market Today Features Zen Coffee

Middletown's weekly event in front of It's Only Natural Market on Main Street features area farms, restaurants and vendors.

The lively neighborhood farmers market run by Middletown's North End Action Team returns Friday with fresh produce from area farms, earth-friendly tees by a local artisan and Zen Roasters coffee.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Main and Liberty streets (in front of It’s Only Natural Market), the North End Farmers Market the guest vendor is 24 Peace, founded by Cindy Witter of Cobalt, which offers earth-friendly tee shirts for the whole family. 

The farmers market features more than a dozen vendors selling locally grown produce, baked goods, milk, eggs and more ansd runs weekly through the end of October, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shoppers eligible for food benefits (WIC/SNAP/Senior Vouchers) can receive a dollar-for-dollar match for purchasing fresh produce, up to $40 per month. SNAP recipients can buy market tokens with their EBT Card to purchase fruit, vegetables, dairy, eggs, and baked goods. 

The North End Kids’ Market also returns this year. Kids who attend the CRT summer lunch program in the North End can become educated North End Farmers Market shoppers. Participating kids will receive tokens to shop at the market and will learn about locally grown produce and healthy eating through games, cooking demonstrations and presentations from local farmers and chefs.
