Located on Prout Hill Road in Middletown, the Polish Falcons' "Nest" is a fraternal lodge that doubles as a cateringMore hall called The Pavilion on Crystal Lake. The Polish Falcons are a Fraternal Benefit Society and use the lodge and grounds to hold meetings, social events and sports outings. The Polish Falcons was founded in 1894, and there are currently 972 Nests across the country. The Polish Falcon's clubhouse contains a full bar and is located in the lower part of the building, facing the lake. Many special events are held solely for members, such as Friday night dinners, happy hours, car shows, cook-offs, football events and holiday parties. To qualify for membership, members must be at least 21 years old, of good moral character, physically and mentally sound and of Polish or Slavic nationality.

Middletown's recreation division runs or supports a range of annual programs, including summer youth camps and programs,More sports clinics, adult and youth athletic leagues, senior programs and swimming at Crystal Lake and Veterans Memorial Park and Pool. The parks division maintains more than 30 municipal parks, cemeteries and the grounds at city hall. It also hosts or supports Little League and Youth soccer, high school games and helps out with other events such at the Head of of the Connecticut Regatta, American Legion Baseball and semi-professional football tournaments. The director of the parks and recreation department and the superintendent of recreation work from offices at Riverview Center, Suite 140, just down from police headquarters on Main Street.
