So publish the results of total voters for and against and total voters in the district!

The District follows their bylaws and it was published in the Hartford Courant and Middletown Press…Read More in the Legal Notices on May 2. It was also filed with the Town Clerk on May 3.

Why is it that the Westfield Fire District announces that their vote one day ahead? Do they really…Read More think that all the residences can make their 8:00PM meeting? Why is their no absentee voting? I am disgusted, and feel they run it as a fraternity! I pay the taxes, but really get no vote in their budgeting!

Since the events occurred, there has been a significant increase in security in both areas. Police…Read More and private security companies are both frequenting the parking lots, and the stores all along that strip have also increased security. These are proactive changes that are meant to stay.

This is scary. With Middletown and State Police seemingly everywhere, how could 2 crimes practically…Read More back to back in the same area happen???????

@ Linda - possession of 14 grams or less is a ticketable, civil offense, no longer an criminal,…Read More arrestable offense.

Nepotism at it's best at South Fire. This is the 3rd firefighter position for this guy. Finally,…Read More Pops can get him hired. This department pays their staff $55,000 a year in incentives just to show up. We as taxpayers would be better off here with a volunteer department than this bunch of guys who can't motivate themselves to come into work and sit down on their taxpayer paid recliners. Do a follow up story in a few months and most of these guys will have moved to Middletowns main firehouse like most staff before them. South Farms is nothing more than a stop off for anyone looking to get hired in a real firehouse.

And people wonder why I don't trust Middletown cops.
I hope he spends the rest of his life in…Read More prison.

So, I thought marijuana possession and parephenalia were decriminalized last summer? Don't the cops…Read More have better things to do than bother stoners?
Ian Battles May 4, 2013 at 09:56 pm
Why do the cops need more money? Just the other night, I got video of 8 cruisers showing up to…Read More arrest ONE person on Main Street. Seems like they're overstaffed if they have 8+ officers idle enough to show up to a stop.
