City of Middletown Office of the Common Council

The Common Council is the legislative branch of Middletown city government. It's composed of 12 elected individuals who represent the city as a whole. The council adopts ordinances and resolutions and determines the annual municipal budget. It also levies taxes and authorizes the issuance of bonds. The public is invited to attend and speak at all council committee meetings, including regular meetings, which are held on the first Monday of the month at 7pm in the Council Chamber of city hall. Agendas and minutes of council meetings may be obtained via the council's website, the council clerk's office or the town clerk's office.
