New Haven Lighthouse

I am grateful for my GPS because it gives me more courage to venture out to the unknown. Last year, in November, I went to East Haven which is where I saw the New Haven Lighthouse from a distance. Being in a area I don't normally go to I decided to be adventurous and get a UP-CLOSE look at that light house. The GPS proved very helpful.
It was a stormy kind of day, but the rain held out until I was all done with my pictures and headed home.
Although I am not a fan of swimming I do enjoy being near the ocean, rivers, and streams.  It seems to bring a calming effect - and it's beautiful.
While I was at the New Haven Lighthouse I found a OLD bottle. My research tells me it's from the Old Bridge Bottling Company (which made flavored soda) on Farm Road and is associated with Nellie Green.  The bottle could be nearing 100 years old. There is a Nellie Green Restaurant in New Haven today but they claim to not be associated with the same Nellie Green. The orginal Nellie Green owned the Talmadge Hotel which I found a article online about:  http://www.hogriver.org/issues/v7n01/westhavensirishrose.pdf
It was a adventurous kind of a day with some added mystery to it.
