Cold Sesame Noodles from Tibetan Kitchen Rock

not only is Tibetan Kitchen the only Tibetan restaurant in Middletown, but it's also one of the most delicious. This is just one of our favorite dishes on their menu.

Tibetan Kitchen has got to be one of the most delicious underrated restaurants in Middletown. Located in the North End, this quaint little eatery is filled with drawings of Tibetan landscapes, pictures of the Dalai Lama, and the pleasent aroma of their freshly prepared dishes.Highlights of the restaurant include the friendly, attentive waitstaff, very vegetarian friendly menu, huge portions, and very managable prices.

I’ve enjoyed every dish I’ve eaten at Tibetan Kitchen, but one that especially stands out in my mind is the cold sesame noodles.

Sesame noodles are no revelation. In fact, it’s fair to say that they’re one of the most common Asian dishes served at restaurants in the states. The ones at Tibetan Kitchen are made with thin noodles, and are served in a flavorful sesame glaze. Rather than the sesame component manifesting itself in a sauce that drips off the noodles, it seems to have been absorbed into the noodle.

The dish fuses eastern and southern Asian cooking styles in a way that is very typical of Tibetan cuisine, and even though it’s on the appetizer menu, it’s definitely big enough for a full meal, or to share with a friend. For $6.00, it’s a pretty great deal. I highly suggest that you check it out.

Let me know what you think!
