Light the Sky with Light and Love
Saturday, noon - As a tribute to the many children and teachers that were taken from us on December 14, 2012, this event is taking place on Saturday. Light the Sky with Light and Love was developed and originated by 10-year-old Jordan Spencer, who wanted to do something to help after finding out about the Sandy Hook tragedy in Newtown. Jordan, his 7-year-old brother Cameron Spencer, and their mother, Alysia Robinson, came up with the idea to honor the 26 angels that were lost on that day. It started off as a smaller event, but has grown tremendously as people from all over heard and wanted to donate their services and time to this event. A full carnival will take place at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds in Portland from noon until 9:30 p.m. The carnival will include rides, arcade games, children's activities, food vendors, jewelry vendors, etc. There will also be entertainment including musical talents as well as magician performances. At the end of the evening, a laser light show listing the names of each victim and a firework display will take place to truly honor and remember the 26 angels of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Brewers Fest
Saturday, 4 p.m. - Ski Sundown will host its seventh Brewers Fest at the mountain on Saturday. This fall tasting experience will include 35 of the "Who's Who" in microbreweries and brewpubs from Connecticut and beyond.
