Weekend Planner: a Potluck, a Yoga Hike, a Car Show and More

Check out what is going on in the region this weekend.

Bountiful Harvest Potluck
Friday, 6 p.m. - On Friday, Coginchaug Area Transition is hosting its second annual bountiful harvest potluck from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. under the pavilion at Peckham Park in Middlefield. All are welcome to attend. Bring a harvest dish to share with a recipe/ingredient card so others can make your dish at home. Don't have a vegetable garden? Visit the Durham Farmers' Market on Thursday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. to pick up some local produce and use your creativity. The plan is to produce no waste, so people are asked to bring their own reusable plates, cups, cutlery, cloth napkins, etc. and there will be buckets for composting food waste. Children are welcome, and there will be music provided by Kathy Weber of Middlefield, and Jeff Munsie of Middletown. CAT will also provide drinks.

Saturday, 1 p.m. - Gallery 53 is exhibiting a variety of original textile work. The Textile Show includes surface design, felting, quilting, knitting, weaving, knotting, fiber sculpture, basketry, handcrafter paper, and needlework.
