Paws and Read

Saturday, 10 a.m. - Otakus!, Russell Library’s anime and manga group is
interested in all things Japanese. This special program for children 6-10 years
old will be held on Saturday in the Activity Room at Russell Library. Important beliefs in the two most popular religions in Japan, Buddhism and Shinto, are compassion and the interconnectedness and reverence of all life. With that in mind, Otakus is pleased to sponsor Paws and Read, so bring your favorite books or check out some of ours and practice your reading skills by reading to a Certified Pet Partner dog. Drop by and enjoy the fun. No registration is needed.

Football and a Can and Coat Drive
Saturday, 1 p.m. - The Coginchaug Football Club will host a coat and can drive to help those in need during the holiday season at its home game on Saturday. Please donate non-perishable foods and gently used coats.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
Saturday, 1 p.m. - Dog Pound Rydaz (a local Motorcycle crew) will be partnering with Green Street Arts Center to donate Thanksgiving food items to local families in need. There will be turkeys and non-perishable food items that will be there, so please stop by. All food is on a first come, first serve basis, so please plan
to come early.

Yoga and Pilates for Kids
Sunday, 11:15 a.m. - Boys and girls ages 4-7 are invited to attend a very special Yoga and Pilates class created just for them! Rikki Alrutz will spark their
imaginations, as they travel into relaxing lands. As they express themselves through movement they will be learning enjoyable and healthy bodily positions. These will stretch and strengthen their growing muscles, teach them breath and body control, help them relax, and improve their sleep. Children will experience firsthand the many benefits yoga has to offer, while playing, laughing, and working together in a non-competitive, relaxed group atmosphere. Come enjoy 45 minutes of active fun! For more information, visit http://yogainmiddletown.com.
