Middlesex Chamber Announces Service Award Winner

Joyce Kirkpatrick has been a longtime patron of the arts in Middletown.

The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday that it has awarded this year’s Governor William O’Neill Service Award to Joyce Kirkpatrick of Middletown.

The service award, named after former Gov. O’Neill because of his dedication to public service during his tenure as a state legislator and governor, has been given out each year since 2002 to a person who has performed outstanding public service for the citizens of Connecticut.

The Chamber will present the award at its breakfast meeting at 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 19 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Cromwell with U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney in attendance. Check back with Patch for a full story on Joyce’s accomplishments.
