Thousands in Connecticut to March for Babies

Prizes offered to top fundraisers this year include an iPod Touch, Kindle Fire, and trip for two with airfare to Puerto Rico.

This spring, thousands of families and business leaders will join together in the March of Dimes annual March for Babies—the nation’s oldest walk fundraiser honoring babies born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive.  Nine events will take place across the state on April 29, May 5 and May 6, aiming to raise $1.2 million.

March for Babies is the March of Dimes largest annual fundraiser nationwide, raising $2 billion since its start in 1970. Funds raised helps moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies, fund research to find answers to the problems that threaten babies’ lives, and provide comfort to families who have a baby in neonatal intensive care.

To register, visit www.marchforbabies.org or www.marchofdimes.com/ct. All walkers who raise $200 or more will receive an event T-shirt and those raising $350 or more will have the choice of a Macy’s or Kmart gift card. Connecticut walkers may also fundraise for a chance to win other incentives throughout the spring, including an iPod Touch, a Kindle Fire, and a trip for two with airfare to Puerto Rico.
