Docents Needed at Wesleyan's Davison Art Center

The school tours program this fall will introduce more than 400 Middletown fourth-graders to art, music and architecture through annual tours.

Wesleyan University's Friends of the Davison Art Center is looking for volunteer docents for their school tours program this fall. Docents introduce more than 400 Middletown fourth-graders to art, music, and architecture through annual tours.

Docents will lead tours, assist in creating lesson plans, meet with curators, and stimulate connections and a dialogue about the works of art.

Tours run from Oct. 8-10, Oct. 15-17, and Oct. 23-24 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. All docents will be required to attend the training session and commit to one (or more) shifts.

The Friends of the Davison Art Center have a history of over 40 years of engaging with Middletown's students and couldn't do it without the tremendous support of their volunteers.
