Severe Weather Expected Thursday

Central Connecticut could feel the brunt of big storms.

 

The has forecast severe thunderstorms which could produce damaging winds, hail and even tornadoes for Thursday in the state. According to early projection maps, Central Connecticut could feel the brunt of the storm.

Weather Channel's Severe Weather Expert Dr. Greg Forbes says that it's possible that a derecho, a widespread damaging wind event, could be ongoing during the morning hours from portions of New York State to central and southern New England.

Some thunderstorms may be severe with damaging winds...large hail and heavy rainfall. Humid with highs in the upper 80s. southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe with damaging winds...large hail and heavy rainfall. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
