Fourth of July 2013: What's Open? What's Closed?

Keep in mind that with the Thursday holiday, some offices may also be closed Friday. Check before you go.

The Fourth of July is Thursday this year and although you're likely headed to the beach or enjoying the day at a family picnic, you may need to run out for something.

Here is a listing of what it is open and closed for the holiday in Middletown.

Closed

  • Some restaurants: Krust, 
  • Middletown City Hall
  • Banks (under state law they can remain open, so call or go online first)
  • State offices, including DMV
  • Financial Markets
  • State Courts
  • Federal Offices
  • U.S. Post Offices (no home delivery)
Open
  • KidCity Museum, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Klekolo World Coffee on Court Street
  • Restaurants
  • Beaches
  • Most Liquor Stores
  • Most Supermarkets
  • Most Retail Stores
  • State and Municipal Parks
  • Veterans Pool public swim is 12:05-4:30 p.m. and 6-7:45 p.m.
  • Crystal Lake open 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
