The Middletown High School boys crew team placed 74th in this past weekend's Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, the biggest river race in the world.

The Boys Varsity 8 members, led by Captain Marco Amleto Sunday in the Youth Fours Men High School, didn't originally earn a spot in the competition and qualified only after another team was eliminated.

Each year, the Charles receives far more applications than it can accept. For new entrants and for those who did not earn a guaranteed entry in the preceding year’s Regatta, a lottery is held following registration deadlines.
