Let's go Down to the Connecticut River to Kayak

Monday's weather exceeded expectations in Middletown, warming up to a pleasant 79 degrees by mid-day on the Connecticut River.

Four young Wesleyan University students — perhaps celebrating the merciful end of finals week and the school year — loaded up their kayaks and pushed into the waters at Harborpark at 2:30 p.m.

Although we weren't privy to the invitation, join us as we take a smooth voyage along the Connecticut with them.

If you can hear past the constant hum of traffic whizzing by along Route 9, you may be able to discern one young man singing Alison Krauss' "Down to the River to Pray."

"... oh, darlin', let's go down, down to the river to pray" ...
