Xavier Serves Up Thanksgiving Trouncing of Middletown

Led by quarterback Tim Boyle and running back DeAngelo Berry, the Falcons dominated the Blue Dragons 41-14 to win the city championship.

 

Xavier High School defeated the Middletown High School 41-14  Thursday to capture the 15th annual city football championship at Wesleyan University's Corwin Stadium at Andrus Field.

Falcons quarterback Tim Boyle (Middlefield) threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns on 19-for-27 passing (he also scored a rushing TD). Running back DeAngelo Berry rushed for 233 yards on 23 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Sean Marinan's Falcons are ranked number two in the state behind only Hand High School in Madison and host Greenwich in the first round of the Class LL playoffs on Tuesday.

Sal Morello's Blue Dragons will play Masuk on Tuesday in the first round of the Class L playoffs.
