Joining the Danbury university's community are 750 first-year students, with another 700 students who transferred from other colleges and universities.

Joining the university's community are 750 first-year students, with another 700 students who transferred from other colleges and universities.

Aug. 25 was the start of Welcome Week at WCSU, with participation from university President James W. Schmotter and faculty, staff, alumni, students and members of the community.

All new students were invited to participate in WCSU's "Entering the Gates" ceremony, during which faculty and staff officially welcome the students as they walk through the university's entrance gate on White Street.
