Middletown Patch has asked Police Lt. Heather Desmond of Middletown for details, which are expected shortly.

This letter is to inform you about an incident which occurred this morning at Macdonough School.

There was a report that two men were along the fence on the back field of our school attempting to speak with students.  Police were notified and several patrol cars were immediately dispatched.

A member of the police force remained on site while others patrolled the surrounding neighborhood.  At this point, there is an active police investigation.  In addition, we are putting into place security measures to ensure the continued safety of our school community.

While incidents like this give us all reason for concern, I must commend our school community and the Middletown Police Department for their admirable response.  Be assured that the safety of our students and staff remains the highest priority at Macdonough School.

If you have any questions related to this incident please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Jon Romeo

Principal
