City's Most Talented Young Picassos Showcase Art

Middletown students were thrilled to see their classwork matted and hung throughout the board of education at the exhibit opening Thursday evening.

Student in kindergarten through grade 12 whose art masterpieces were selected for the district-wide art show converged at the board of education's offices Thursday evening with family, friends and classmates for a treasure hunt of sorts.

The art reception featured more than 140 student artists (chosen from about 5,100 students) who got a chance to meet Interim Superintendent of Schools David Larson, enjoy a generous offering of juices, brownies and cookies, and search for their work on the hallway walls, in individual offices and the conference room.

The setup encouraged parents and students to admire the work of others as they meandered along.
