Middletown Catholic School Shipping Old Uniforms to Haiti, Liberia

After the merger between St. Mary's and St. John's elementary schools, the Catholic Church has decided to donate the uniforms to a good cause.

When two Catholic schools in Middletown — St. Mary of Czestochowa School  and St. John's School — decided to merge this year, it meant getting rid of the schools' now defunct uniforms.

But the new institution, Blessed John Paul II Regional School, has decided to donate the old uniforms to the needy.

The Middletown Press reported that the schools are shipping the uniforms to Salesian Missions, which will then distribute them to children in both Haiti and Liberia. The delivery of the uniforms happened this week, as local businesses Home Depot and Lowe's donated boxes to the cause, The Press reported.
