Middle School Parents Alerted to Meningitis Case
City Health Director Confirms Woodrow Wilson Eighth-Grader Has Non-Bacterial Infection and Poses no Danger
Woodrow Wilson Middle School today issued a statement on its website alerting parents that an eighth-grader has a confirmed case of non-meningoccal meningitis, according to Middletown Health Director and School Medical Advisor Dr. Joseph Havlicek.
He confirmed this type of meningitis, an infection of the fluid which surrounds the spinal cord and brain, is not the more dangerous type and no preventative steps are being taken.
Parents have been advised to call the health department at (860) 344-3474 or consult their pediatrician with questions.
