Middletown High School's band and chorus took home a number of awards last week during competition against groups from across the country at the Presidential Inaugural Music Festival held in Hyattsville, Md., last week.
The group of more than 220 toured D.C., on Jan. 20, took a dinner/dancing cruise on the Potomac Sunday night, and was on the National Mall for the Inauguration of the President on Jan. 21.
The band competed in the categories of string orchestra (first place), jazz ensemble (second place), concert band (second place) and parade band (third place). The choir competed in the categories of chamber choir (first place) and and concert choir (second place).
