Xavier's Kohs Classic Honors Chauncey Hardy
The 2006 graduate of Xavier High School will be remembered for his infectious smile and as a role model for youth.
The eighth annual Artie Kohs Basketball Classic will be offered as a memorial to 2006 Xavier High School alumnus Chauncey Hardy.
In his welcoming letter in the event program, former Xavier Director of Athletics Arthur Kohs wrote, "This year we offer the tournament as a memorial to Chauncey Hardy '06, 23, of Middletown, who died Oct. 9 in Romania.
"After graduating from Xavier in 2006, Chauncey went on to Sacred Heart University where he excelled on the basketball court. He was playing professional basketball for CSS Giurgiu in southern Romania and throughout Europe. While at Xavier, Chauncey played basketball for three years under Coach Michael Kohs. He was named All-State, All-League and All-County.
