Goodwin Pins Three Middletown Nurses in December Ceremony
Join Patch in congratulating these graduates who are on their way to becoming registered nurses and productive members of the medical field.
Three Middletown residents were among 53 men and women pinned Dec. 19 as graduates of the Goodwin College Associate Degree in Nursing program, marking the latest cohort to earn the credentials necessary to make a positive impact on its field.
The cohort was well represented by students in different phases of life, from the young men and women who graduated from high school just a few years ago to grandmothers celebrating their achievement with their families.
All were honored during a ceremony held at Goodwin College in East Hartford, where the grads took their oath by candlelight, calling upon the legacy and example of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale.

- Mifflin David of Middletown.
Prior to reciting their oath, each program graduate shared a personal moment with Jan Costello, Chair of the Nursing Department. Costello pinned each student's lapel, marking their successful completion of the program and their readiness to go into the field.

Since its inception in 2004, the Goodwin College Nursing Program has become one of state's leaders in educating and preparing nurses. More than 1,100 people have successfully completed the program before going onto meaningful careers.
