'Responsible Hosting' Campaign Kick-Off For Middlesex County

Anthony Salvatore, president of the Middlesex County Substance Abuse Action Council (MCSAAC), announced that MCSAAC will host a rollout event for its Responsible Hosting campaign with state senator Paul Doyle, state representative Christie Carpino, and Cromwell first selectman John Flanders on Wednesday, October 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Willowbrook Spirit Shoppe, 2 Willowbrook Road, Cromwell.

The event will also include Cromwell police chief Anthony Salvatore, Willowbrook Spirit Shoppe owner Jay Polke and students from Cromwell High School.  The students will be on site to distribute and post literature and signage for the Responsible Hosting campaign.

The countywide campaign is designed to unite parents who choose to say no to social hosting for the betterment of all children and young people.  Studies show that more than 80 percent of Middlesex County parents report that they would not engage in social hosting, and the mission of the campaign is to engage this silent majority.

MCSAAC director Betsey Chadwick has spearheaded this initiative and, thus far, 18,000 pieces of campaign material have been delivered to 11 local prevention councils across the county that cover 15 towns.

This is the first event of its kind within Middlesex County.  For more information, please visit www.responsiblehosting.org or contact Matt Fraulino at matthew@middlesexchamber.com or call 860-347-6924.
