MxCC "Brown Bag" Lunch Series Discusses "One World House"

Chris Schweitzer from the New Haven/Leon Sister City Project will speak at MxCC to discuss the "One World House" that is on the MxCC campus from September 19-23.  This talk is part of the new MxCC Brown Bag Lunch Series and is open to all faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.

The New Haven/Leon Sister City Project is a progressive, binational, grassroots organization that fosters a  artnership between the communities of Greater New Haven and León, Nicaragua, and promotes social justice. The house is a full-size model of a house typical in rural communities in Nicaragua and around the world.  It includes nine banners that describe the impact of climate change on vulnerable rural communities, the science of climate change, and what we can do to mitigate the impacts. The “One World House” will be moved downtown from the MxCC campus for the September 24 Moving Planet Day events.
