Board of Ed to Name New Schools Head June 19

Middletown Public Schools superintendent candidate interviews are being held early next week for the spot now filled by interim super David Larson and vacated by Michael Frechette in March.

The city will have a new superindentent of schools by next week, according to a story in the Hartford Courant.

A and Cooperative Educational Services of Trumbull will interview candidates Monday with final interviews June 18, Middletown Board of Education Chairman Eugene Nocera told the Courant.

Middletown is also hiring an associate superintendent to replace Barbara Senges, who retired in late March; and principals at and and Keigwin middle schools.

Nocera told the Courant the board will narrow the principals to three candidates for each school, and let the new superintendent choose whom to hire.

On March 14, former Superintendent was hired as the district’s interim superintendent.

The last day of school is June 20.
