Six to 10 inches of snow are forecast for Middletown, with one to two inches falling through Thursday morning's rush hour, according to the NWS, followed by a lull. The most amount of snowfall is expected to be Thursday night into Friday morning.

The city of Middletown's sidewalk snow removal policy was reiterated last month on the website: "It is the responsibility of every property owner to clear or treat their sidewalk with sand or other suitable substance within 24 hours of snow fall.

Also, Public Works employees who find impassable sidewalks may treat the area and collect the cost from the property owner. "Any person who fails to comply with an order to remove snow or ice shall be fined."
