How to Get Full Custody of Your Child in Connecticut

When the economy is hard, the divorce rate goes up and parents begin to fight over the custody of their children.

In the State of Connecticut, most times, the mother will receive the primary custody, however, obtaining full custody is difficult. That’s when you need to hire a Private Investigator and open a Child Custody Investigation.

What a Child Custody Investigation Will Try to Prove

For women, evidence is needed to prove that the father cannot provide for the child, is neglectful of the child when he does have visitation times, or is abusive to the child, due to anger issues, alcohol, drug abuse or addiction.

For the father to have the mother’s rights terminated in the State of Connecticut, it is a bit more difficult.
Since the mother will most likely have primary custody of the child, the investigation begins with a background check and conducting continued surveillance.  Every little misstep the mother takes, while with the child, can become a valuable tool in a court of law.

Many times, a mother dragging a child around by the arm in public, or punishing them for misbehaving in public by hitting them, or even just leaving them unattended in a car, yard, or store, can make all the difference for a father’s fight in court.

In either scenario, you want to find a private investigator who conducts a discrete and thorough surveillance and investigation to obtain the evidence you need.

What You Can Expect With a Child Custody Investigation

Your initial consultation with your private investigator should include the development of a strategy.  Once your private investigators have an understanding of your situation's background, your strategy will be the guide for the case. This is an emotional undertaking and you'll need to count on your investigator to maintain focus on your objectives without losing sight of what is important to the investigation.

When consulting with an attorney, you should make them aware of your investigator and their efforts.  The investigator will work with you and your family attorney until you have the evidence you need to fight in court.
