What's Open, What's Closed on Christmas Day

Take a look at what's open and what's closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

Dec. 25 is considered a government holiday, both state and federal, in observance of Christmas Day. There are a lot of closings, so take a careful look.

Christmas, Wednesday, Dec. 25

  • City Hall: Closed
  • Russell Library: Closed
  • Middletown schools: Closed
  • Banks and U.S. Financial Market: Closed
  • U.S. Post Offices: Closed
  • State Government Offices: Closed
  • State Courts: Closed
  • Liquor Stores: Closed
  • Supermarkets: A few will open for periods, but most are closed. Call ahead.
  • Retail stores: Most will remain closed, reopening Dec. 26.
  • Middletown Parks: Open daytime, closed at dusk.

Looking for s store? Try Walgreens or CVS — both will be open 24 hours on the Christmas holiday. Many gas stations will also remain open. Happy holidays from Patch!
