Students' Sculptures Transform Trash into Artistic Treasures

Citizens may vote for the most creative children's recycled sculpture contest entry through Wednesday in the lobby of Town Hall.

The City of Middletown Public Works Department annual Children’s Recycled Sculpture Contest entries are on display in the lobby of City Hall.

Krishna Winston of the Middletown Resource Recycling Advisory and Stephan Allison, city arts coordinator, will award first-, second- and third-place awards and an honorable mention to 27 creations primarily from fourth-graders this year.

Sculptures include a pink piggy bank made from water bottles and plastic cups, roses made from egg cartons, plastic soda caps colorfully arranged into a familiar recycling logo and a picture frame decorated with puzzle pieces.
