VIDEO: Drew Wins Democratic Primary
Calling it a victory for 'the working people and the middle-class, the 31-year-old officially becomes his party's candidate to face off against incumbent Mayor Giuliano Nov. 8.
As primary results filter in Tuesday evening at Democratic Headquarters, the mood shifts from excitement to elation as Dan Drew is declared the winner. With his wife and three young children at his side, the 31-year-old Middletown mayoral hopeful delivers a victory speech that recognizes his supporters, who he said, “worked day and night to make this happen.
“We had people in this headquarters every single day … we had people going out door to door every day in incredible, intense heat," Drew said.
"I’m humbled by the outpouring of support … and from many people who are not even in this room tonight because they stayed so late and they have to get up so early to go to work in the morning they had to get going.”
