The DEEP is Clear Cutting Trees on I-91 in Middletown

Have you seen dozens of trees lying by the side of the roadway while driving on the interstate and wondered what is taking place?

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is conducting tree maintenance on Interstate 91 northbound in the towns of Meriden, Middletown and Cromwell.

The operation will be performed on a 6.91 mile segment of I-91 Northbound from exits 17 to exit 21 through Dec. 13. Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on I-91 Northbound between exits 17 to exit 21.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
