Treasurer Candidate to Middletown: 'Be the Change You Want to See'
Republican Molly Salafia says she'll defund the treasurer's salary if she wins the election — because of "ridiculous" spending and borrowing of the current administration.
Editor's Note: Middletown Republican Molly Salafia, who sits on the city's Planning and Zoning Commission, is running for treasurer on Nov. 5. She explains below why — if she wins — she'd entirely defund the position.
To the Editor:
I am running for treasurer because I, as a taxpayer and homeowner, am fed up with the ridiculous spending and borrowing of this administration.
People need to understand bonding means borrowing - swiping a credit card and charging it — with interest — to our future.
I want to have children some day who will grow up in Middletown, and they do not deserve the burden this administration is setting all of us up for.
