Chat With Sen. Suzio at Breakfast Cafe Thursday

Folks are invited to the Rise & Shine Café to voice their concerns about what's going on in Hartford.

From 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, State Sen. Len Suzio, R-13th District, will talk with taxpayers at the Rise & Shine Café, 749 Saybrook Road, Middletown.

Suzio, who is preparing for the legislative session which begins in February, will bring his petitions to cap the state’s “hidden” gas tax and to eliminate the tax on social security income.  Hundreds of people have signed the petitions, which can also be signed online at www.senatorsuzio.com .

"I urge taxpayers to come out first thing in the morning to say hello, grab some coffee and breakfast, and tell me their concerns about what's going on in Hartford," Suzio said.

"Clearly, people are fed up with the high taxes and the wasteful spending. This is an informal way for me to connect with greater Middletown taxpayers and get to know them better. I am fighting for them in Hartford – fighting to lower taxes and to reduce wasteful government spending. I thank the Rise & Shine Café staff for allowing me to host this event.  Hearing directly from taxpayers in these settings, I feel, makes me a better legislator."

He also noted that future events at Rise & Shine Café are planned.  "I will be right here every third Thursday of the month from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.," Suzio said.  "Mark your calendars!"

Suzio represents Middletown, Middlefield, Rockfall, Cheshire and Meriden.
