State Employees Union Endorses Drew for Mayor

CSEA/SEIU, Local 2001, points to candidate's platform of economic development and stabilizing taxes.

The Connecticut State Employees Association announced its endorsement of Dan Drew, Democratic candidate for mayor of Middletown.

"Dan Drew has proven himself to be an extraordinary public servant who is committed to his constituents and the city of Middletown. On behalf of the over 25,000 members of CSEA/SEIU, Local 2001, we are honored to endorse Dan Drew for mayor," said Patrice Peterson, president of CSEA/SEIU, Local 2001.”

"Dan Drew is going to lead the way in spurring economic development and stabilizing taxes,” Peterson said. “Because Dan believes that taxpayer money should be spent on education and not on lawsuits, he will work cooperatively to improve schools." 

“CSEA is a group of dedicated educators and public servants whose focus is on educating and building the middle class,” Drew said. “Their support means a great deal to me because it’s a validation of my policy goals — to make Middletown more affordable for regular folks through tax reduction, job growth, and the improvement of public education.”
