Rep. Lesser Hosts Autism Program Summer Students

The Middletown youth received on a private tour of the state Capitol and Secretary of the State's office in Hartford.

 

State Rep. Matt Lesser, D-100th, hosted students from Middletown's ’s Summer Program in the Secretary of the State’s office at the State Capitol. Lesser took the students on a private tour of the Capitol.

The summer program runs from 1-5 p.m. through Aug. 17 and offers job coaching skills, life skills, field trips and social thinking.

The goal of the Ryan Woods Autism Foundation is to improve the quality of life for families affected by autism spectrum disabilities. Staff are dedicated to increasing the awareness of autism and the unique challenges of families who are faced with it every day.

The commitment is to support these families by helping them find the resources they need through monthly educational facilitating parent and sibling support groups as well as educational after-school and summer therapeutic and recreational opportunities.
