Recycling Center Will Collect Storm Debris

Weekend hours set for residents to drop off brush from Hurricane Irene — but people must have a pass from Public Works, open through 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Middletown's Recycling Center has set special weekend hours for residents to drop off brush, branches and other natural debris from Hurricane Irene. Residents must have a valid pass for the center, obtained only at Public Works, which remains open Friday until 4:30 p.m.

Accepted will be brush, leaves, grass, cardboard and any recyclable items such as newspaper.

There is no charge for the pass and it's good for unlimited visits through December 2012. One needs only to register with their license plate number.
