Oh No! More Snow in the Forecast Tuesday for Middletown

The National Weather Service expects heavy snow will begin to fall by mid-morning, with a 2- to 4-inch accumulation on the ground by the start of the afternoon hour.

Ready or not, there's more snow predicted in the day ahead for Middletown, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 a.m. through 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The alert is for southern Connecticut and Northern Long Island, including northern and southern Middlesex County. It says snow will develop during the morning rush hour and become moderate to locally heavy at times by mid-morning Tuesday. Snow will taper off to snow showers during the start of the afternoon rush hour.

Middlesex Community College closed its Middletown campus at 4:30 p.m. on Monday and canceling classes Tuesday. Its Meriden location remained open Monday evening.

Last Monday, Middletown schools had a two-hour delay and on Tuesday classes were canceled.

Accumulating snow — expected to be between 2 and 4 inches here in Middletown — will create slippery roadways and hazardous travel conditions, according to the NWS, especially on untreated roadways. The main impact will be in between the morning and afternoon commutes.
