Middletown Democrats Canvass for Voters

On Saturday, city residents were encouraged to vote blue this November as volunteers went door to door, drumming up support for president, U.S. and state Congress and Senate.

On Saturday, the Middletown Democrats sponsored a town-wide voter canvass that began from the former Friendly's restaurant on Washington Street.

About 20 folks came out to knock on their neighbors' doors in support of Barack Obama for President, Chris Murphy for U.S. Senate, John Larson and Rosa DeLauro for U.S. Congress, Paul Doyle and Dante Bartolomeo for State Senate, and Joe Serra and Matt Lesser for State Representative.

Rosa DeLauro’s opponent: In the 1st 8 minutes of this interview you’ll get WAYNE WINSLEY’S philosophy—based on his hardscrabble early life (vs. super-rich DeLauro’s fake solutions—based on condescending, elitist “theories”). http://ct-n.com/ondemand.asp?ID=8108 Winsley: “There isn’t a single government program…that has ever made a single person financially independent”… “The only place where innovation is frowned on is government” [referring to the fact that politicians agree Soc. Security & Medicare need to be made solvent—but DeLauro won’t deal with the programs’ impending bankruptcy]. Winsley [on the need for bipartisanship]: “A bird needs both a right wing & a left wing to fly.” [vs DeLauro’s strident partisan rants]. Wayne Winsley: “I have one request [of the Hartford Courant]: Don’t endorse any candidate in the 3rd District until AFTER there have been debates.” [DeLauro refuses to even respond to Winsley’s requests for a debate. Is she hiding something?...]
