Mayor Advises Residents to Stay Home as Freezing Rain Falls

Dan Drew says city crews, who have been plowing streets since Friday morning, are working to get the city back to normal as quickly as possible.

Editor's Note: Mayor Dan Drew sent this email at 6:43 a.m. Monday.

A freezing rain is falling in Middletown. That, combined with efforts to continue clearing roads, will make driving treacherous.

Please stay home unless there is an emergency.

Middletown crews are still working to clear roadways and have been on duty since Friday morning. Our crews are making very steady progress so we can get the city back to normal as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile we perused Craigslist and found several people looking for help plowing their driveways and others offering to do the work. If you need help getting to work or just getting out of Middletown, see here and here.
