Longtime Recreation Superintendent Passes Away

Ray Jacobs, 53, who served Middletown for more than 25 years, died suddenly this weekend.

Longtime city employee and Superintendent Ray Jacobs, 53, passed away suddenly this past weekend, according to an email by John Milardo, Middletown Parks superintendent and Middletown Managers & Professionals Association president. 

He worked for the Parks and Recreation Department for more than 25 years.  Calling hours will be held at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown, Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. 

A burial mass will be held at , 10 Elm Street, Middletown, Thursday at 11:30 a.m.

"Ray was a past union brother of AFSCME Local 466, and a present member of Teamsters Local 671 for the city of Middletown managers," Milardo writes.

We consider ourselves among the fortunate ones to be friends with Ray and his family. May memories of him bring comfort to his family at this time. Ray will be dearly missed.
