Letter: Rep. Murphy Displays 'Marked Sincerity' and 'Impressive Wealth of Knowledge'

Senate candidate's performance during debate on NPR program was impressive, writer says

On Thursday, May 24, I tuned in to NPR to listen to the Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate debate on the “Where We Live” program. In the debate, Congressman Chris Murphy spoke not only with a marked sincerity but an impressive wealth of knowledge on the issue of job creation.

Throughout the course of the debate, he explained his plans for lowering the unemployment rate. He has been a strong voice for the Buy American cause, which entails that the government gives preference to American manufacturers for contracts. He also explained the importance of investing in roads, bridges and infrastructure here in Connecticut to combat the high unemployment rate.

I could go on, but the point is that Congressman Murphy has shown he has the expertise and understanding to effectively push for the middle class and jobless Americans who are suffering. I can think of no candidate who I would trust more to represent my economic interests in Washington.

Here’s hoping the rest of the Connecticut voting bloc agree with me.
