Labor Groups Host Job Fair

The Middlesex County Career Fair will run from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Representatives from more than 40 companies will take part in the Middlesex County Career Fair at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Cromwell on Tuesday.

The event, which is co-sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Labor, the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce and the Workforce Alliance Workforce Investment Board, will run from 11 a.m to 2:30 p.m. The Crowne Plaza is located at 110 Berlin Road in Cromwell.

Members of the state labor department’s team of Nationally Certified Professional Resume Writers will be on hand throughout the day to review visitors’ resumes and lend advice and assistance at no charge. Some of the  participating companies will include Clear Channel Radio Connecticut, Comcast, Health at Home, MTU Aero Engines North America, PTE Energy, TD Bank and Verizon Wireless.

Admission to the fair is free. Job seekers are reminded to bring along plenty of resumes, dress to impress and be ready to meet immediately with prospective employers.

Anita Cox, a spokeswoman for the labor department, said some of the jobs in demand right now include aerospace engineers.
