In Fundraising Race, It Is DeLauro By Landslide

Rosa DeLauro, the Democratic incumbent for the 3rd Congressional District, has raised 35 times the money that her Republican opponent Wayne Winsley has collected.

A large portion of DeLauro's $869,402 donations came out from outside Connecticut, however, while Winsley's $24,372 is entirely from Connecticut residents.

In Middletown, neither Winsley nor DeLauro has received financial support.

DeLauro visited the city on July 30, touring , a small, growing manufacturer that designs, manufactures and supplies engine testing equipment.  They recently won a contract that will enable them to begin exporting their products, which has already resulted in new jobs and will likely result in more hires in the future.

On May 2, DeLauro visited five of Main Street's small businesses, , the , , and the , celebrating their contributions to the economy and hearing their concerns about the nation’s economy.

DeLauro's reporting to the Federal Election Commission is for money raised between Jan. 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012. Winsley's fundraising went from Sept. 9, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
