Retiring Rep. Hamm Backs Lesser for 100th House District

The departing legislator says the 29-year-old two-time state Rep. will fight for better schools, work to protect the environment and champion small businesses.

Retiring State Rep. Gail Hamm is endorsing State Rep. Matt Lesser (D-Middletown) for re-election to the 100th District, which includes half of Middletown.

"Matt is a great Representative," Hamm said. "He is a friend of mine, and I trust Matt to fight for better schools, for environmental protection and small businesses."

Hamm has represented Middletown for seven terms, serving since 1999. Lesser has represented Middletown in the General Assembly since 2009.

In the redistricting that followed the 2010 Census, the Middletown portions of Hamm's district were combined with Lesser's.

"I thank Gail for her support and for her years of service to the people of Middletown. I look forward to continuing her work for her constituents in the State House," Lesser said.
